A Trip to Skardu
Our journey through the breathtaking landscapes of Pakistan’s northern areas began with a mix of excitement and uncertainty. As we embarked on our expedition to Skardu, Deosai, and Khaplu, a series of unexpected twists and turns transformed our planned itinerary into an unforgettable adventure.
One such twist came in the form of a mechanical mishap at Lulusar Lake. Stranded in the frigid night, we were humbled by the kindness of local villagers who rallied to our aid. This unexpected delay, however, allowed us to explore the serene beauty of Lulusar Lake in a way we hadn’t anticipated.
As we continued our journey, we traversed the awe-inspiring Deosai Plains, a vast expanse of rolling hills and crystal-clear lakes. The rugged beauty of the landscape, coupled with the thrill of off-road driving, made for an exhilarating experience.
Our adventure took an unexpected turn once again when we were forced to abandon our original route due to road closures. This detour led us to the snow-capped peaks of Babusar Top, a breathtaking sight that rewarded our resilience and adaptability.
Through it all, we were reminded of the power of nature and the importance of embracing the unexpected. Our journey was not just about reaching our destination; it was about the experiences we gained along the way.

An Unexpected Journey to Arang Kel
In March 2018, my friend Ali and I were feeling a bit restless. We’d often head to Murree for a quick getaway, so we decided to do just that, without much planning. We were dressed casually, not expecting to venture too far. After a night in Murree, a spontaneous idea struck us: why not explore…
